Privacy, straight from the bottle
Analytics
We run our own small, first-party analytics on our own server. No cookies, no ad networks, no Google Analytics, nothing sold. We count page views, which tools get used, clicks and scroll depth, and where visitors came from (the referring site and any utm_ tags).
To count unique visitors without tracking you, we combine your IP address and browser type with a random value that changes every day and keep only a short one-way hash. We never store your IP address, and the daily value is deleted after two days, so we can't recognize you from one day to the next.
If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we record nothing at all.
What you type into tools
Calculators run in your browser. Manifests and listings you submit are processed to produce your result. Links you paste are recorded only as your source; we never open them.
If you sign up for The Dairy Digest or Milk Delivery alerts, we keep your email, saved-search settings and the optional zip and radius you give for the Dairy Digest's Near-you section until you unsubscribe (one link in every email).
Brag Board and reader stories
If you send a find or story, we store what you wrote, the name you chose to show (if any), your optional email and a one-way hash of your connection for spam limits. A person reviews it before anything is published, and your email is never shown. Email us to have a post removed.
Cookies
No tracking or advertising cookies. We set only a few small, essential cookies: mg_ff counts your free Milk-o-Meter checks, mg_sess keeps you signed in if you have a plan, and mg_co links a checkout to your browser for a day.
Payments and accounts
Payments and subscriptions are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. For subscribers we keep your email, your Stripe customer ID, your plan and how many checks you've used this month. Sign-in links are emailed through our email provider, Resend, only when you ask for one.
